CAMPBELL DIAMOND WINS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Australian guitarist Campbell Diamond recently won the 2014 Calcutta International Guitar Competition "Roland Dyens". Such a great achievement! Campbell has been awarded several places in various other international competitions during 2014. After studying in Canberra under Tim Kain and Minh Le Hoang for several years, Campbell is now based in Germany where he is studying with Hubert Kappel.




ANDREY LEBEDEV TO PREMIERE TWO NEW WORKS ON DEC 4, 2014


Australian guitarist Andrey Lebedev will be premiering "Sonata No 5, Ars Combinatoria" (The Art of Combination) by Leo Brouwer and "Beyond the White Hand - Construction with guitar player" by Harrison Birtwistle on Dec 4 at St John's Smith Square, London.

STEPHANIE JONES WINS "YOUNG VIRTUOSO OF THE YEAR"
Congratulations to the fantastic guitarist who has been awarded the "Young Virtuoso of the Year" through the Classical Music Broadcasting Association. Stephanie has just completed her Honours year in Music Performance at the ANU (Canberra) with Tim Kain.
This is an annual multi-instrumental event, where the major component is the live-to-air broadcast of the semifinalists' recitals. Selected by audition, the performers prepare a recital of 45 to 50 minutes in duration, which must include at least one Australian work. Go Steph!!! Read about it all in limelight magazine HERE.



MATT WITHERS PREMIERES NEW AUSTRALIAN WORKS

Matt Withers, head of guitar at Canberra university and PHD candidate has recently run the inaugural "Matt Withers Young Australian Music Composition Competition" which aims to generate new Australian music and support the next generation of composers. He premiered the three winning works in a special concert at the National Arboretum Canberra on November 23rd. For a great review of this concert by City
