Words fail to describe the virtuosity and musical maturity Frenchman Thibaut Garcia displays in concert.
It is no coincidence that by the age of 21 Thibaut had won first prize in 6 of the world’s most prestigious concert artist guitar competitions.
As part of his 2015 GFA competition win Thibaut was awarded a 50+ concert tour of America, recital at Carnegie Hall, Naxos recording, GHA recording and a Mel BAY collaboration.
Thibaut says he is “really excited to visit and play in Australia! I have travelled so much and met many wonderful people, but Australia has so far been missing from my concert schedule. I am very excited to come here and perform for the first time”
Thibaut has so far performed in France, Spain, England, Germany, Romania, Hungary, Canada, United States, Brazil, Greece, Argentina, Mexico, Russia and China! Michael and Evan (co-partners of MGF) are looking forward to welcoming him to Melbourne during his debut Australian tour and presenting this memorable concert.
It is with this excitement to share such commanding guitar virtuosity to Melbourne audiences, that the Melbourne Guitar Foundation are adopting a “Pay What You Like” ticket price for this concert, which includes complimentary beer, wine and cheese platters during intermission.
Due to seating capacity at the venue, only 100 tickets will be made available. Please pre-book to avoid disappointment (and to allow the MGF to properly cater the event).
We encourage you to pay what you can afford, any amount will be accepted. The following are suggested donations to cover the costs of this event:
$30 – This covers the performance cost
$40 – This covers the performance cost and catering
$50 – This covers the performance cost, catering, artist accommodation and international airfares
Your support is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you on November 22nd, 7pm at St Mary’s Church, 428 Queensberry St, North Melbourne.
“What is most impressive listening Thibaut Garcia is the ease with which he transforms into music every technical and interpretive gesture, every breath and every silence, using the guitar as a natural extension of his own voice.” Lorenzo Micheli, guitarist
“An exceptional guitarist, mastering the guitar with beauty, cleanliness and poetry. A great artist who offers us freshness to the ease and spontaneity wherever there is study and reflexion.”Luis de Pablo, composer
“A great guitarist, demanding, humble, always as a servant to the music. Truly a privilege to collaborate with such a musician.”Vincent A. Jockin, composer
